Meet My Testers
It is always frustrating to get a pattern and find mistakes in it. I know there is no such thing as perfection, but with my testers looking out for me, I at least feel like we are striving for it.
I am proud to call this group of girls my close friends and now co-workers.
We have been together as a group for three years now, but my friendship goes back with them from 7 to 12 years. Four of the girls were in my very first beginning quilting class 12 years ago.
So when I asked them to be my testers, there was no hesitation from any of them. They readily take whatever I give them. I try to have a pattern tested three times. Our show and tell is absolutely marvelous just from the excitement alone.
It did take them a little bit getting used to telling me about my mistakes, after all I was their teacher and they all thought I was perfect! Now the patterns come back to me full of red pen. They show me my mistakes, ask for additional diagrams, demand clarification on something that makes perfect sense (but obviously only to me!) and we laugh and plug along.
I can’t count how many times, I have been up against deadlines and come to them with my arms flailing, “I need this in one week!” "Here we go again", is the chorus…..but they have met everyone of my deadlines.
So I am so proud of my girls I wanted to introduce them to you.
But not in the normal way. You see I want you to meet them as I know them. Thus we have the picture of almost all of them. This was taken at our fall retreat, 2009. I like to set a theme for our once-a-year retreat and this year was Mardi Gras. Everyone brought a trinket and every couple of hours we all received a gift. And they had to make a mask!
Well, by Saturday night we were so PRETTY, I knew this was the perfect picture to share with you.
So here are my girls:
Back row, left to right: Nancy Pangrazio, Reggie Quartley, Kathy Walsh, Cathy Hallatt,
